About the artist

Mel is an abstract + multidisciplinary artist artist based in Bellingham, Washington. Growing up between the mountains of British Columbia and the vibrant culture of Austin, she developed an early love of movement, color, and the natural world, all of which echo through her work today.

Working primarily on raw canvas, Mel uses acrylics, inks, pigments, and mixed media to build layered, textured compositions that explore intuition, emotion, and the balance between energy and stillness. Her practice is a way of tuning into her inner landscape- trusting what arrives, letting go of what doesn’t.

Continually evolving, Mel’s body of work reflects a deepening connection to her surroundings and herself, creating pieces that are both grounding and boldly expressive.
